Fifteen Taree Public School children and five adults including teachers, left Taree on Thursday 7th July 2016 (first week of the school holidays) bound for Sydney. The purpose was to attend NCIE NAIDOC Family Fun and Sports Day and Barangaroo's NAIDOC activities.
It was a very busy few days with plenty of places to visit and lots of things to do.
They visited Newcastle University for lunch and a tour on our way to Sydney, once they got to Sydney the travelled over the Sydney Harbour Bridge checking out all the sites like the Opera House. They stopped at Barangaroo Reserve and were lucky enough to visit the Barangaroo Offices and went up to level 21 providing an amazing view.
They stayed at the Hyde Park Barracks and slept in hammocks and got to look through the museum.
On Friday they were presented with a "Ticket of Leave" so they headed off to the city and visited the Opera House and then to NCIE NAIDOC Family Fun and Sports Day.
Afterwards they headed to Chowder Bay at Mosman where they enjoyed an early meal and some warm showers ready to go to the football at Pirtek Stadium to watch the Rooster v Eels.
Saturday morning saw them all up at 7am ready for a day at Barangaroo's NAIDOC activities before heading home at 2pm all tired and exhausted from a very busy 3 days.
