Pink Day Morning Tea

Group photo of five staff members wearing pink

Wednesday 31 October was the day that Taree Public School’s hall transformed into a beautifully decorated function room in various shades of pink.

Then it was filled with cupcakes, cheesecakes, sponge cakes, layered cakes, slices, biscuits, savoury platters, fruit platters and lots other tasty treats, many of them decorated in pink!

Parents, extended family, community members, local agency representatives, friends and staff all enjoyed a cuppa and delicious food for a good cause.

Then came the excitement of the raffle draw! The children joined everyone in the hall for the draw. The raffle prizes were 28 pink bags filled with all sorts of pink items, generously donated by the Taree Public School staff. Uncle Russell and Aunty Wilma drew the tickets and the winners were:

Jodie Eyres, Blake Turner, Tim Mitchell, Carter Cox, Mrs Murray, Kevin Sellers, Mrs Clapson (won 2), Evie McLeod, Ellalee Muddle, Hogan Family, Kerry Ashby, Talisha Ridgeway, L. Cranston, Hannah Grimley, Karen Clark, P. Tisdell,  M. Smith, Gemma Brasher,  Sally Murray, Ivy Hickson, Tori Bracher, Maddison Sullivan, Monique Fitzpatrick, Sally Green, T.S Kumar (won 3!),

Loren Wenzel and Amy Robertson won the lucky door prizes.

After the raffle draw, the children participated in pink themed activities. The primary students made dream catchers, did origami, made friendship bracelets and painted pink flamingos.

The infants students made pink necklaces, flowers and pink heart-shaped characters. There were lots of positive comments, happy faces and all of their pink creations looked great!

Our Pink Day Morning Tea and raffle raised $300.05 for Women's Cancer and $305.00 for Manning Valley Can Assist.

This would not have been possible without the generous donations from all of the staff at Taree Public School.

A big thank you must also go to the students who sold raffle tickets  and all of the people who supported these worthwhile charities by donating at the door and buying raffle tickets.
