Religion and ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.

At Taree Public school, Special Religious Education (SRE) is provided every Friday between 11.30 am 12.00pm.

Bible Based:

Godspace is designed so that children can engage with God's living word to discover the reality of God in their lives. Every lesson uses the Bible and encourages children to explore the Bilbe for themselves.

Permission on enrolment and permission notes are sent out to all parents /carers to allow their child/childern to attend the SRE class. Written notification of any changes should be handed in to the School Office.

Special Religious Education is authorised by Taree Baptist Church and Uniting Churhes in Australia.

For more information about the Baptist Association SRE, including curriculum scope and sequence, please visit the website www.godspace.org.au

During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate class and will participate in meaningful activies.
